There is so much music out there. We hear it everywhere and it’s part of our everyday lives – whether by choice or involuntarily. Kanel Records strive to listen to the elements that are unfiltered and perhaps even dirty – but therefore also pure – in the music. No genre is too rough, nor is anything too pop-oriented.

Some might call it authenticity, although most people would probably claim that they’re all about just that. We don’t want to be bandwagoners or snobbish in our attitude. Life is too short to be an elitist. There are probably many expressions to cover our selection of music. Some might call it hybrids.

For those not gifted in the Danish language: Kanel means cinnamon. And it works just like our music: It can be sweet, and it can be incredibly dry. Kanel is a lot of things, but it is first and foremost Kanel.
